Russia comes to Philadelphia

Uploaded: August 16, 2013

Description

----
This photo was made on the deck of the Moshulu, an historic Clipper Ship now moored permanently on the Philadelphia Delaware River waterfront, as a floating restaurant.
---
Members of the upcoming Russian production of the musical, "Chicago" were visiting the city, and were being hosted for a luncheon aboard the ship.
---
We are seeing one of the stars of the production being photographed by the one of the production's still photographers. Seen in the background (far left) is the U.S. Customs House. The Ben Franklin Bridge is also shown.

You find the most interesting things, Michelle, and also make ones that seem less interesting captivating. #1540640

Terrific photo and interesting info. There is a parkway in the Bronx near where I grew up called Moshulu Parkway; I wonder if there is a connection...(I think the parkway is spelled Mosholu though). #10809902

Agnes. The ship's history is fascinating. Here's a link to its Wikipedia article:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moshulu

The ship sailed all over the world and spent lots of time in New York so it's not surprising that there is a parkway named after it. #10809915

Always enjoy the artist taking a picture of the artist at work. The thrill here is that you have the talent to take advantage of the opportunity and bring us such gorgeous journalistic work that is a joy to see in your gallery. One can look at this picture and see that it is done my a master. Love it my friend. #10810216
