SLOW DAY
Uploaded: August 10, 2013
---
This is a restaurant on Passyunk Avenue in South Philadelphia. Somehow, there was no front window and when I shot this, the room was completely open to the elements. I suspect the window slides up and down, or to the side.
----
On this day Passyunk Avenue hosted the 8th Annual Car Show and Street Festival, which was about to come to a sudden close when suddenly, with a CRASH of thunder, the sky opened and delivered eight inches of rain in the next hour.
----
I hope the restaurant was able to enclose itself in time.
----
It is not clear whether the throngs of drenched people who had been strolling the street moments before, ducked into the many wonderful eateries along the way, or decided to get quickly home and into dry clothing. Certainly, any covered doorway was occupied by people waiting for a chance to flee!

Invites me in, it does, raining or not. I like the catch of the woman there directly looking. Pours here in summer just about every afternoon around five. Umbrellas are in for summertime, except that I haven't gotten used to carrying one yet. #10803248David Phalen August 10, 2013

How interesting! Apparently they wanted an OPEN AIR cafe but had to include a roof and some walls because of the rainy weather you often get.Your post processing techniques are always superior, Michelle. Great find and job here.
