This photo of an Asian Longhorn Beetle (Anoplophra glabripennis) was taken in Okinawa, Japan MAY 1, 2013 at 11:37AM using a Pentax KD10 and Sigma 10-20 at 20mm. Obviously, I'm lying in the prone with the camera resting on the step to capture the insect with traffic in the background. f/11 1/90 ISO 100 using continuous shooting mode, spot metered and available lighting. Since posting the story on my blog, I have discovered this beetle is a real pest, destroying forests from as far away as Maine and Australia. The bug was placed in a cage and donated to a local school, where, I hope, it got dissected ! Contest Category: Animals

Exif: F Number: 11, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 1/90 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 100, FocalLength: 20.00 mm, Model: PENTAX K10D
