I like this Kristin. The POV and the composition work very nicely and the happy expression adds so much to the image.

Exposure wise there are some issues with the blown whites and because of the background I can see why they occurred.

You can help it by opening in the raw editor and cutting the highlights. I'd also suggest after that to do about a 20% screen blend just to her and the horse to make them match the high key look of the rest of the image.

Also since this is displayed on a white background, a stroke around the image to contain it would be helpful.

Lovely pleasing shot. #1528158

Is the background white on your monitor, Kristin, or does it have a beige cast?

I like the picture. It tells a great story. I'll be interested to see if Dales suggestions address any of the color questions I might have. I'll also be interested in the other's response to the cropped hands at the bottom. I think you probably cropped there to reduce a negative compositional impact of going lower and having to deal with the bottom of her blouse. #10693103

The cropped hands was the issue I was going to point out, but Stephen beat me to it. And, WLTSDS. Otherwise, this is really nice. #10693398

Look at those flaring nostrils! Can't wait to go! (that's the horse I am referring to. :0) #10693447

Love the POV. I think all the issues I see have been mentioned. My calibrated monitor shows a little pinkish cast rather than beige - perhaps cooling the WB a bit might fix that but I will wait to see the suggestions implemented before I know for certain.

Overall a very fun and inovative capture. #10693773

Love this! This is really a nice shot. I agree with the above-the sky looks beige on my monitor, and her shirt and the white markings on the horse's face blend in with the sky. I'd like to see if the suggestions above help with this. They are both obviously having a great ride (wish that were me:)! #10693797

well I will have to second all that has been mention, from it being a very nice image to the issues that have been mention. I am also seeing the pinkish cast that Mike mention. #10694110

I will just wait and see what you do. I do like the facial expressions of both of them. #10694857

Yes, the white balance may be slightly off but the POV and the expressions are spot on. The judges thought this was a winner, and so do I !
