Description

This is Rango's 1st day out walking on her leash around the park on the river front at Tea Gardens. She did well, looked at everything & spoke to 8 people. I think she will do well once she gets use to going to different places. Lens aperture f/3.5, shutter speed 1/1000sec, focal length 7mm, ISO 100.

As soon as we get the cats we put the harness on them, (even though they are to young to take outside)we call them, put on the harness & have a game, then take it off. We also put the harness on every-time we are putting them in the car basket & they get the idea it means going out. When I go outside I call their name & shake the harness, with it's bell & the cat runs to the door, gets the harness on & is allowed outside. This is how we trained Kody & CT as well, but we started early & never let them out with-out the harness. Kody & CT ended up walking as good as a dog, but Rango is still learning. We also don't pull them, just stand still if they go the wrong way & then they feel no pressure when they go the right way. Hope this helps. #10824172

Helps a lot Chris and thanks for the info. With my 20 cats I hope I do not get anymore soon. Mine are too old to learn new Cat tricks. When I put the harness on them they just freeze and lay on the floor and will not move. But if I ever get another baby I will begin with the harness right away. Thanks for the info. Emile #10824219

We have an older inside cat, Coal who is the same, you would think she was paralysed when she has the harness on. We only ever take her in our yard if we are sitting out there & after about half hour she'll sit up & take a few steps near us & seems to enjoy it. We've never had that many cats but have had over 20 dogs due to people dumping them over the holidays. Cars would stop & put them out with some food & then drive off, the dogs would just sit there until our dogs barked then they'd come down to our place. #10827979
