Blue Blood
Uploaded: March 27, 2013
When I was a little girl my mother used to tell us a story of her family history. She said that she was a descendant of Mary, Queen of Scots. Although not verifiable because there was no official marriage involved, Queen Mary's Son had a child out of wedlock who bore families and eventually begat my mother. The story of Queen Mary and her Son has been passed down through my mothers family for all of these generations. Today- I search for the truth.

My grandfather on my mother's side always claimed to be part Indian - Cherokee, if I recall correctly. That would be really neat, but we've never been able to verify it. Makes for a great story, though - but I'd go blue in the face like you trying to get at the truth!! #10626572Laura E. Swan March 27, 2013
Hi Monnie!Wow! That would be so neat! I met a Cherokee Chief in the 1980's down in Oklahoma and had the most interesting conversation with him. He explained what a peaceful people the Cherokee are. You'd fit right in. :D
Thanks for the visit and I hope you can trace it back!!

WOW! I bet your ancestor was the first to reach the top of Mt. Nosal in the very very long ago!? How awesome to have a whole mountain named after you on this planet! Pretty darned special! Thank you for sharing this, Wm!YOU SEE???? All of us have SOMETHING really special about our families! :D
My Grandpa (Dad's Dad) was an inventor. He had such a brilliant mind for that sort of thing and could play any instrument by ear that he would ever pick up! he was so entertaining to be around and always made us laugh. Such a huge sense of humor. My Mom and Dad were very funny folks, too. I grew up in a very loving light hearted home. I really value this now. (I took it for granted back in those days).
Thanks Wm! Great to see you! #10630094

Hi Chris, And I am honored to know you! :D You'd have been *more* honored to have known my Mother than to know me. She was the most pure hearted women I ever knew. She taught me so many valuable lessons that I still carry with me today. Her motto was "Kindness is always appropriate". I can't even begin to tell you how many times this alone has guided my life.Your Grandfather sounded like so much fun! I bet you cherish the memories that you have of him?
Thanks for stopping in!
Big hugs!
