"Look, See Me Run!"

Uploaded: March 06, 2013

Description

1/640s @ f/5.6, ISO 2000, Nikkor 70-200 VRII @ 400mm, 2X TC.
Taken at the Jacksonville Zoo during a Photowalk following the NANPA 2013 Summit. This 6-foot-2 male reticulated giraffe is only 2 weeks old and weighed 150 lbs. He was so cute prancing around although he still tended to stay close to his mother. Giraffes typically live about 25 years in captivity and can reach up to 18 feet in height.

COOL MONTHLY Was there 39 years ago so I'm betting it's improved just a bit in that time..

Very cool! Did you happen to run into Laurie Rubin? She has posted a couple of shots of a two-week old giraffe. Coincidence? #10600268
