member since: 2/11/2001 It sounds scary to me too, Carol. I probably would have avoided that trail, I'm not as brave as you! LOL! This is so beautiful, the light is gorgeous!

You're such a talent Carol. I am not spooked in the least. I am wanting to put on quiet, comfortable shoes and walk and walk to see where the quiet path takes me. The unknown feels long. I guess that is why others feel leery? :)

Fantastic job. Exclude all bears please and I will be great! Ha!

Dear Photo Friend: I feel that something has changed at Better Photo but cannot tell you just what has happened. I have been here since 2003 and most every month I have written to all the winners telling them how their work touches me. I have witnessed photographs that bring tears to my eyes and colors that are unbelievable, now I am worried that like all good things that it will not be here the next time I look.
But the feeling of not being able to congratulate all the winners for the hard work, and sharing their talent with all of us makes me so sad.
However it turns out and even if this is the last time I have this privilege, to let you know how exceptional your work has been, please know that I will never forget.
CONGRATULATIONS to all of you for the month of March, 2013, I send my very best to you always, Merna Nobile

2/10/13, landscape. From past fall- This trail was a bit scary because we couldn't see into the forest on either side of the narrow path through the tall lodgepole pines. The bushes are late season huckleberries, and the bears were in what the Forest Service calls the "hyperphagia" stage. In other words, they eat anything and everything before the winter hibernation. We carry plenty protection though.
