Butterfly

Not sure what variety is but it was fluttering rather rapidly around my yard today
UPDATE: A bit of Googling makes me believe it is an orchard swallowtail

Thanks Jeff. A bit of research has told me that it is probably an orchard swallowtail. #10509558Michelle Alton January 11, 2013 0
I don't know what I'm talking about, but it appears as though this butterfly might be laying eggs? Is it even a female? A beautiful capture, regardless of what is going on! #10509706Colette M. Metcalf January 11, 2013 0

A superb macro capture Paul! It is far too windy here to try and shoot the butterflies! #10510358Paul E. Earl January 11, 2013 0
Thanks everyone. Michelle, I think she was trying to lay eggs. She was flying around and landing often but didn't see her actually lay any. My research tells me that this is the female because she has less black than the male. #10510622Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
