This is a really superior image Rita. The composition is spot on and the lighting and colors excellent. And even though I'm not a big fan, the smooth water caused by slow shutter, really works well in this image. Like it a lot. #1506697

I agree, this is beautiful! Every part of it :) #10497682

Well goodness gracious me! Here I find myself agreeing with Dale about the 'smoothed' water. Generally I find the veiled effect such a hackneyed cliche that my eyes roll back and I moan loudly. But, here Rita, you have such a subtle effect that I am even wondering if if was more by accident than design. It is a beautiful image. #10497765

thank you so mucheveryone, the roar of the water was very cool. no pete its wasn't by accident, I setting were f/9 1/15sec Iso 500 I wanted to smooth the water some but not an over kill. #10497777

Debbie E. Payne January 04, 2013

This is gorgeous, Rita. Somewhere in Ohio, I suspect but don't tell me. It seems to be the wrong thing to ask in the group. Were you standing in the middle of the river or what? #10499644

Good morning Debbie! I am curious as to why you might think it it is wrong to enquire about the location where an image was shot. On here we share in very great details how to achieve certain effects in photoshop so I can't think we would want to be secretive about the place. As you used the word "seems" I am thinking that you personally don't believe it is wrong to ask, so hence my curiosity. It is personal choice of course but as Alice said in Wonderland; "Curiouser and curiouser!".

And thank you Rita for giving us the camera shutter settings, I appreciate it. #10500198

this was in the smokies and let me tell you I was as close to being in the water as I could with out falling in, if any wind would have come my tripod and I both would have been swimming.

and you are welcome Pete I am with pete debbie I don't understand about the place we have always been open as to where it was taken. #10500534
