Glacier Details
Uploaded: December 07, 2012
From a glacier hike near Snæfellsjökull in southern Iceland. I liked how the sense of scale is totally fluid when you look at the ice field; it feels as if
this could be a wider shot of massive ridges of ice--like rolling foothills or mountains perhaps. But it is actually more of a close-up.

You are so right about the scale here, Chris. Before I read the description, I was sure it was a wide shot. Whichever way, it's quite beautiful. #1502307Dayna Cain December 07, 2012

great shot #10454917Chris Budny December 08, 2012
Thanks, folks! It is not hard to imagine how amateur hikers, especially in bad weather, could get totally disoriented, lost, and die on the ice, once you leave the perimeter of the glacier for the interior. #10455503Michele Peterson December 08, 2012
"Cool" in many ways! Great details, too! #10456126Chris Budny December 09, 2012
