PREHISTORIC GOOD LOOKS

This fellow calls the West Palm Beach Zoo his home even though he's totally unrestricted in his movements. He wanders the grounds as he pleases. Here he's atop a Handrail made of a telephone pole ( nice for scale) which is part of a foot bridge over part of the South American Exhibit.
Approximately 8 feet long, half of it tail. He is the UNQUESTIONABLY the Largest Iguana I have ever seen or heard of. From the Huge Claws to the amazing assortment of colors in his scale he is like eye candy for the camera.
Exif: F Number: 9, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 1/200 seconds, Flash: fired, compulsory flash mode, return light detected, ISO: 800, White balance: Manual white balance, FocalLength: 85.00 mm, Model: NIKON D90

Why on "earth" would Nature create such an amazing mosaic of color and geometry on a LIZARD? What was SHE thinking?Beautiful...with the possible exception of that goofy expression and curled tongue. #10452099
