Yup, I'd say this fits the challenge well! I've always loved your images of these arches, what a great place to shoot. #10715167

Dale Hardin 5/30/2013 8:21:34 AM

Thanks for this great entry for the challenge Usman. It works perfectly. But, five second timer? Five seconds? Wow, you are one fast mover my friend. #10715391

Michael J. Kelly 5/30/2013 8:12:07 PM

Just wonderful Usman - unlike Dale I am impressed that you could stay so still rather than move fast. Nice hold on your poses for a 10 sec. exposure!

The colors in this are spectacular. #10716159

Dale Hardin 5/30/2013 8:37:56 PM

Mike,he wasn't taking a five second exposure, he was using the five second timer so he could get in the image. :O) #10716196

Usman M. Bajwa 5/30/2013 10:22:26 PM

Thanks Jeff, Dale and Mike for your kind comments.

Dale and Mike you are both right about what you write above!!!

Dale, my run from the tripd to the arch was about 3 secs and I had 2 seconds to jump up and get into the pose. It was close but doable.

And Mike, you are right, holding my stretched arms steady for a 10 secs exposure was the toughest part and as a result my fingers are seen blurred.

Well, let me tell you what was the hardest part in shooting this. There is a good 20-25 feet straight drop in front of me, so I made sure that I anchored my feet well with the steel railing to avoid falling down before stretching my hands. So actually, the pounding of my heart during this one minute adventure was not just because of my running to and away from the camera but also because of the height where I was standing on !!!

Quite a feat Usman. I didn't see the exposure time when I first looked at this image. #10716324

Teresa H. Hunt 5/30/2013 11:01:16 PM

Great image. I love the colors. And I have to say I'm impressed that you could get yourself posed in 5 sec . . . especially with the hight concern. :) #10716344

Usman, I am really impressed with this work, having done the mad dash myself without the risk of falling 25 ft. Very creative idea and a great result. I wonder if you could use the skew tool and pull the corners out a bit to straighten the architecture. #10716682

Elaine Hessler 5/31/2013 7:07:58 AM

Wow-there sure is a story behind this one! Glad you didn't fall and hurt yourself! I think maybe it's time to get a remote:)

I really do like this one though! #10716688
