The clown-like character seen here is a Chondara and, entertains bystanders while classmates perform a dance known as Eisa. This photo was taken Oct 7, 2012 at 1:32PM during a school Sports Day in Okinawa, Japan. The child, playing the role of a Chondara, gave one of the best performances, I've ever seen. So, I'll be going back to the school to present him, or her, a print of this photo. Pentax KD10, tripod, Sigma 50-500 at 360mm, under harsh, midday light. f/11 1/400 ISO 100.
