Description

These two old white cockatoos don't live far from the perch with water and seed that we put out for wild birds. Even old animals need as much help as they can get. The one on the right has an overgrown beak, which gives him much difficulty in picking up seed.

Cockatoos mate for life and in his eyes his "Madge" will always be the love of his life....and always a beauty. I guess I'm an old softie at heart...your very sweet capture of these two partners for life brought a lump to my throat. Wonderfully touching capture, Ms. DU.... #10387327

OH MY GOSH Debbie, this is a hoot!! At least at first look, the poor bird on the right, is there a way he could be caught and his beak trimmed? I guess that would be pretty difficult, I do my bird's beak but then he is VERY tame and even then it is not that easy. VERY well done my friend <>< #10399084

This is so heart touching in the picture and in the story. What a message it gives us as when we grow old, the love of our lives will always be beautiful to us. A picture paints a thousand words and you have done that so beautifully my friend. #10401917

This is so endearing. Perfect title Debbie-Lou. All the mixed reactions here. My heart breaks a little for them but am happy they still are there together. Bitter sweet. I wish they could file his beak so he could eat easier. :/

I admire him for not trading her in for a young little parakeet. Lol...

Great find,

Oh my what a story this capture tells with mixed emotions. I agree with all above is there anyway a vet can file down or help remove part of the beak. Sweet story as well and many birds mate for life (unlike many other species including humans). #10538846
