I took this one last fall. Cindy and I spend a weekend in the Smokies every fall trying to hit a different span of the Blue Ridge Parkway. This is outside of Blowing Rock. I felt very fortuitous on this shot to get the VW run into my viewfinder. When I was a youngster we had a pop-up VW wagon similar to this one. My brother and I traveled (tumbled) around in the back as our folks drove us around the countryside. No seatbelts at that time. I think we were considered the resident hippies of the neighborhood.
