Description

These Two Summer Sweethearts Stayed Side By Side
And It Was So Sweet To See.
It looked like they were sleeping, standing up!!
I used the fractalius filter on the BG to give the appearance that they were standing on a dirt road, and free, rather than in caged captivity.

Maybe what they really wanted was to be away from the crowds?

I'll include the original inside.

A feeling I think we ALL have when we see caged elephants. But a beautiful image, Laura. #10270819

Great way to isolate the background and focus attention on these two sweethearts. They do look sad being caged and not free to roam around. Hope they're being treated well. #10271195

Your work is eminent, SSSLala.
And this is such a sweet image of the two of them standing there close to each other.
I hate to see them in captivity too and wish we could set all the animals free.
Maybe we should take a tour around the world and do just that - what do you say?

If only we could use the frac filter in the Real World, Pom! We could release lions and tigers and bears and elephants and so many other caged creatures!
Your image helps us pretend that these two are side-by-side in Africa, ready to follow the rest of the herd into a big ol' mudhole for an afternoon of mud-slinging relaxation, with nary a human in sight.
Keep using your DD skills to give us the idealized version of the zoo residents.

Elephants have such a strong family bond, Laura! It is wonderful to see it in action here! I must say they look happy enough with their lot in this fine portrait!
Nice to see you back on Bp Swanee! #10272096

An excellent capture that has removed the distraction of the surroundings very well, Laura! There sure seems to be a real bond with these two great creatures! Well done!

Hi Bobby and Monnie, Jeff, Kay, Michelle, Rey, SSSKiki, Mare, Neal, Bro J., Phil amd Tam-Tam. :)

I think we should all sneak out and take Kiki up on her great idea. What do you think??? Go on a "ZOO Photo Expedition"...and mysteriously set them all free into wonderful safe utopias! (After the grueling lives they have lived they would surely deserve it. Wouldn't they?).

I have very much enjoyed each comment here.

Thanks all of you!

It would be so good to see them free. It's such a shame that animals are so mistreated, had a show on TV tonight showing Rhinos & telling how few they are. Great treatment of this image=^..^= #10290563

Hi Everyone. I saw a show once on Elephants. They are really cruel to them at times while training them. Made me sick. Poking them until they bleed and making them fear things and staying on very short chains out of fear.

Thanks for coming to enjoy this image of two sweet Elephants to dream with me. :)

I've enjoyed all of your comments!!

Omgosh! I love this! I think this is the mother and daughter I read about. Such amazing creatures. Fantastic shot!!! Is she the famous painter? #11522808

Hi Nette! Great to see you! Our Painter has tell tale markings on the nose. Like yellow spray speckles. :))) !!! So this is not the same one. I wish I knew the mother and daughters names. They definately were glued to each other! Can you add here what you read about the painter please? :D Thank you so much! It's a part of history!! Thank you so much!!! And for the great visit!! #11522887
