Alesund, Norway Description: Shot late last month (July, 2012)while I was on a cruise called Voyage of the Vikings. Alesund is a beautifully situated and very pretty small city, notable among other things for the art nouveau style of many of its buildings. Most of these buildings were built in the 3 years following 1904, when a disastrous fire destroyed much of the town, leaving thousands homeless. The burnt structures had been made of wood. All of the new ones built of concrete or stone so as to be more fire resistant. Uploaded on 8/6/2012 10:30:52 PM
Made with Nikon D7000 Digital SLR Camera
