Alcatraz Is Not All Bars

Uploaded: July 26, 2012 00:50:19

Description

The women who lived on Alcatraz - wives of soldiers when it was a military base or later of prison officials - planted beautiful gardens all around the island. The gardens have been restored and are maintained now by volunteers. This shot was taken shortly after sunset on an evening visit to the island.
