St. Michael

Uploaded: July 20, 2012

Description

At the cathedral, there is a small stone statue of St. Michael vanquishing the devil. The entire carving is perhaps 24 inches tall, yet is beautifully detailed.
Here, a close up on his face, as he looks down at the serpent/dragon he's trampled, spear raised on the left, to deal the final blow.
PG101 "Looking Down" theme.

Thank you folks! This is one of my favorite little "hidden treasures" in the cathedral; on plain view, but overlooked easily, and so beautifully sculpted. #10238525
