July 4 Fireworks over Pier 39 in San Francisco, with another display across the bay visible in the distance.
The building in the foreground is the Malt House. This historic landmark building served as a malting factory and brewery for 40 years. It was nearly destroyed in the 1906 earthquake. It is now part of a condominium complex.
