I've had a bit of time to be at my computer so edited a few of my recent Chicago visit; mostly street scenes. These are just for showing you. I haven't picked out my "I need help" photos just yet. I wanted to get away from fire shots and focus on something I've needed to do. Am putting a few more on the thread and then am going to do something for myself, someone who I haven't had time for in the couple of weeks: Go to the Y!! #1472593

Dale - I think that city life really does nicely in HDR and tone mapping. Processed normally, the "L" image you are talking about was just plain boring. Unlike the last time I went to Chicago, this time while on the architectural boat trip I focused entirely on the long zoom and got some interesting abstracts as a result. #10211026

That's something I'm going to have to get in the habit of doing Debbie. I tend to shoot more with the wide angle lens and I know I'm missing lots of detail. You've encouraged me to branch out more. thanks. #10211143

Thanks, Dale and Rita. I just love doing to tonemapping but need to work harder on doing the three images because that is true HDR and it is really amazing. Means more tripod work. And I have been wanting to go do some macro work, too! Got to go now. Three doctors isits for Marty tomorrow. But I did get to go to the Y today is I am feeling more like myself. #10211648

Thanks, Beth. I love doing HDR. It is a lot of fun and it is interesting to go back to some of my first attempts at the program and what I am able to do in the same program with much tweaking and learning along the way. #10221417

Nikki, Thanks for stopping by to comment on this series of images. I have really gotten into HDR cityscapes lately. I think I am beginning to break the code between garish and realistic. Some of my earliest ones that I attempted a couple of years back look seriously unrealistic and psychedelic. I think that is partly why I like photography: looking back at earlier works and realizing how much we all learn along the way in this fantastic journey of ours.

I loved your gallery. You have such talent in so many areas of the art. I can 't decide on just one genre either!! #10233750

Why do I only see one photo with an EFP? Didn't you enter the others into the monthly contest? There is some fine work there. My favorite is "Chicago Graphics" but the others are superb also. #10235418

You have some great images in your gallery. I enjoyed going through your images. I don't normally have a lot of time to go through many galleries but I just fell down the one stair between my kitchen and family room and broke two toes . So I need to keep busy and looking at beautiful images is keeping me busy. #10235593
