Rango was at the Lowry park Zoo for two decades. He passed away in May. He sired seven offspring. two of his daughters still live at the zoo. One born in 2005 another born in 2008. The species is considered endangered in the wild due to habitat destruction and pet trade.

Wonderful image of the late Rango, Kay! I love to watch the orangutans! They are so docile for the most part and are incredibly smart. Beautiful image here! #10205043Kay E. Mahoney July 02, 2012

Bravo Kay! Thanks for posting this tribute to Rango - well captured. He reminds me a bit of a phys ed teacher I had long ago (I think, though, that the teacher was a bit more hairy). Keep up the good work. Best Regards, Steven #10302622Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
