This is my Shelbie ... In one of those amazing moments. Yes she is exactly the same color as the background. It is a huge huge huge pillar from a tree trunk. I've not been here long enough to know what kind of tree.

This is the one and only shot she allowed me ... and it happened only because she was so intent on looking for the squirrels ... I played around with The Hunter's Eye aka Squirrel Watching in the Woods"

Ok so ...

have fun,

Must compliment your dog's cuteness, Pam, before anything else! ; )
I really like this...nice profile shot! I still haven't made up my mind whether I like the background being the same color as the dog or if I would personally have had it otherwise, but all in all, wither way, this is a great capture!

LOL Katrina, if I was planning the shot ... I seriously doubt that I would have chosen to have the same color background but ... there she was ... just about as blended in as she could have been. I couldn't resist ... plus I thought her wet-head look was adorable ... she'd been walking in the woods with us and up here ... for 10 months out of the yr ... walkin anywhere usually means walking in the rain.

She's mostly finnish spitz and has an incredible red brown coat. the dark tips are probably chow-chow ... but i've heard they can sneak in on the spitz breed ... when she sleeps, she curls up and has the most beautiful fox like look ... technically she's not my dog ... I just babysit her a whole lot ... but she refuses sleep in my room because technically she's my daughter's dog ... thank goodness for that since shelbers is getting old and my daughter is marrying a vet tech.

Those pillars are huge and so incredibly beautiful. My husband wants to have a house made of that kind of wood. I think i'd be willing to live there with him ;)

GREAT JOB! #1938853

LOL no I don't permit my kids to pretend they've given me grandchildren by collecting dogs ... the only one allowed to even think that he's adopting in a grandchild is my son who will soon be step-daddy :-D to miss emma ... whom we've discussed before.

Actually ... Sharon ... you're just the one i've been thinking of dropping a note to ... I would love to get some feed back on the picture that I linked to in my first post (the huntress) ... I let my artist out to play and she's not happy with the results I posted ... keeps thinking there's something almost right but not quite right ... etc etc.

i think your translucent dog thing sounds impressive and a lot like work ... just the sort of thing you love ... why don't you take the idea and stick your cats in something? I mean just because i'm not willing to mess with it doesn't mean the idea should go wasted :)

LOL I've missed you as well! I really had no idea how unhappy I was about my photography until I found away to straighten them out.

Did you see Okay I'm a Little Happier and all my meanderings about it? LOL ok ... if you see it ... you'll know ... yes, I occasionally do have a little to drink ... I celebrated the photo clean up with a really great dark ale ... it may show a bit in the post ... but mostly I just felt so light-hearted that more of my photos had much more possibility than they had when I started my day!

I've got another batch to download from today :-D ... the dog and I went to a local park ... well this exact park to be exact ...

i made a discovery ... if I give her a pain pill before we go walking ... she never stops pulling on me ... it made photography a little more challenging. She's still spry tonight too although she's missing Valerie.

Valerie's in Dallas until late Sunday night ... her step-sister is getting married. Valerie found her mantra for the week ... "I am calm, cool, and collected." ... in a book just before she left ... she was thrilled.

She needed it before she ever got to leave town!! Yeah here's a touch of life's irony ... she was leaving the northlands headed for the southlands and there was a connecting flight at midpoint ... yeah ... Denver ... lower 70's here ... mid 80's in dallas ... denver, yeah, snow storm!!! V went through heck! One canceled flight, one missed flight that she shouldn't have been assigned to, and then finally another flight ... ALL before she left Portland!! And she was having to drag around a fancy-dancy bridesmaid dress!

oh wait this is a post ... not an email ... LOL ROTF ... but guess what. It's MY picture I can write if I want to =:-D

your other post on the huntress ... sounded painful! I want you to be over and done with this ... did the doc forget to order a magic wand or something?

have fun,
