Description

Gibbons pair for life. In this species, males are black with a distinctive crest and white sideburns, females are buff with a black head crest.

Brachiating, the arm-swinging mode of travel, takes advantage of great strength in the gibbons' arms and shoulders and makes them the fastest of all treetop primates.
