The waves crashing quite far beyond the shoreline were like a continuous thunder that could be felt as much as heard. A stiff onshore breeze carried a slight mist that brought the taste of sea salt to the lips and a freshness to the cheeks. Occasional sunshine was interrupted by rain clouds, with the blues and grays reflected in the wet beach sand amidst patches of sea foam left by waves retreating across the wide beach. And the sea cliffs were coming alive in the growing morning light. It was dreamlike, even if not an atypical scene on the southern Oregon coast.

Quote of the Day: Our task must be to free ourselves by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty. ~Albert Einstein
