Description: Deep inside the Khewra Salt Mines (2nd largest in the World) in Punjab, Pakistan.Stalactites and Stalagmites are natural formations in the caves of mountains having limestone/salt. These form when rainwater seeps through spaces in the mountain dissolving limestone/salt over time and dripping from the ceiling. The hanging ones are called Stalactites while Stalagmites are deposited on the ground. The lighted tower in the bg is erected of salt bricks.
