Mountains of Morado

Uploaded: February 27, 2012 04:02:40

Description

Close-up from an unusual wood box; cube-shaped, 5" to a side with each face sculpted into 9 little peaks. Each peak has 4 curving,
sloping sides, and each is capped by a tip of maple wood. (The box itself is morado wood, a Bolivian rosewood.)
Studying this delightful box for macro images, it struck me how much the peaks looked like, well, snow-capped mountain peaks.
Here's a view of the Morado Box

Exif: F Number: 14, Exposure Bias Value: -0.33, ExposureTime: 8/1 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 250, White balance: Manual white balance, FocalLength: 100.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS 7D

Here's a cell-phone shot of the entire box, to better explain what it looks like. #1445883
