Yellow Swirl

Uploaded: February 15, 2012 04:02:14

Description

Close up on a hollow sphere made of glass canes; each cane has an opaque yellow core surrounded by a clear layer. The canes are laid out parallel
to eachother while cold, then gathered up on a dab of molten glass, heated, then blown out into the sphere, while being twisted to create the spiral.
I love the wavy distortions of the far-side yellow bands seen through the near-side clear layers.
