Happy Chinese New Year!

Uploaded: January 18, 2012

Description

01/18/12, Donghu Park, Jiangmen, Guangdong, China. It's that time of year again, when armies of gardeners/workmen unroll amazing vistas of flower displays in all the public parks. I really should lift my head up from the detail and shoot some of that... But then I'd have to change my lens. Anyway, they've done it again, even with Chinese New Year so very early this year--I was wondering if they'd have their flowers blooming in time. As most have probably guessed--this one's frac-ed!

Exif: F Number: 6.3, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 1/400 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 400, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 235.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS 50D

This is beautiful, Susan! The frac gives it a soft, whimsical look! #1437366

Thanks, Karen. One never really knows with the frac filter how it's going to work on any one image, though now I'm starting to get a feeling for what images will be enhanced by it. It's never a straight shot--it usually takes me considerable time playing with the frac settings to get just the effect I want. My one complaint is that it doesn't allow you to magnify the image while you're working on it. #9928346
