AISLE OF ST. BONIFACE
Uploaded: October 27, 2011
I was lucky to be allowed to go up to the balcony of this historical church to capture its beautiful interior. Built in 1900 but severely damaged by the Great San Francisco Quake of 1906. It was rebuilt in 1908 but in 2002, it faced a demolition order by the city because of seismic inadequacies. Miraculously, over 12 million dollars was raised to restore the building within 5 years.

It would have been a tragedy to have lost such a magnificent building. Now it is also preserved in film. Great job Alex. #9766488Lisa J. Boulden October 27, 2011
Breathtaking! Such a lovely pov!Chris Budny October 28, 2011
Another beauty, Alex! I love your close-to-the-ceiling perspective, so the painted decorations on the vaulting becomes prominent. #9769128Alex T. Mizuno October 28, 2011
Thank you for such thoughtful comments everyone!! This church is located in a rather rough neighborhood but it was worth going there. Church people are all kind and very accommodating. #9769807Laura E. Swan November 08, 2011
