~Attended my first ever Pow Wow this past weekend and was fascinated by the beauty of their clothing. I before attending, would have called it a costume but the Master of Ceremonies pointed out is was their clothing and not a costume~

Every year, the Cherokees have a Pow Wow within walking distance of my house and I can hear the drums beating. I hate to say I have never been, even though my wife can trace her roots back to the Cherokee. Great image! #9726517Gord MacEachern October 10, 2011

A terrific capture! Beautiful colors! #9726673R. J. Laudenbacher October 10, 2011
Thank you so much for your comments. I chose to isolate him from his background because they had it set up in an area that had a ball diamond in the background. Therefore there was fence and yellow safety protectors going all through the picture. Did quite fit the mood! :) #9726675Val Feldman October 10, 2011
...and isolating him was the perfect choice - enhances and brings to the forefront the beautiful "garb" (is that OK - I don't need the Cherokee Nation pounding on my door for a faux paux! :) :) that he is wearing! Gorgeous color and detail, LM and a terrific capture! #9726703Renata Gusciora October 10, 2011

Beautiful work. I just attended a Pow Wow too and was told not to use the word costume or uniform, but to refer to the clothing as regalia. #9837425Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
