~ FALLEN ~

Fallen Dreams.... HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!
Fallen Memories....
Fallen Life....
Many farmsteads, barns, sheds,
and the like have fallen...
from neglect, from being no
longer in use. Tenants moving
on, leaving a life of hardship
and struggle, to start life anew.
This old barn had stood in the
middle of a field for many years.
In fact, I have taken a photo of
this one, several years ago, but
only from a distance. Not long ago,
I Did It, YES! I trespassed!
The grass that surrounded this
lonely little barn had been cut and
baled because of the impending
and ongoing drought, so I rode my
four-wheeler out to get a closer
look. A recent storm had finally
brought this old gem to its knees.
Too bad, as it will probably
forever remain in this state.....

Your title and words are as poignant as the image, Jeana. Like you, seeing a home that is old and empty (abandoned, decrepit, or burned out) has me stopping and thinking about the people who once lived there. #1400511Jeana Clark August 12, 2011

I'm with Kathy -- the description is as good as the image and that's very good indeed. I love the inclusion of the fence in disrepair for foreground interest and balance. Excellent composition and detail, Jeana. #9599541Linda Blair August 12, 2011
Beautiful capture.....love these old!! #9599542Chris Schlosser August 12, 2011
Beautiful capture, Jeana! (We have some old barns and houses near to where I live, and I always wonder what happened. Why they are left like that. Sad to see) #9599840Mary Timman August 12, 2011
