Happy Duck

Uploaded: July 27, 2011

Description

While sitting in a park with Margie and Jill during a Chicago photo outing, a family approached the fountain and tossed in this yellow rubber duck.
Every one of them had a camera and was taking pictures of the duck. Eventually they came over to us, seeing that we were piled up with camera
gear and tripods, and asked if they could photograph one of us holding the duck. It came out that the duck was their equivalent of a
"traveling gnome"---they were out to photograph it everywhere they went, including on elevators, in taxis, outdoors, etc.

I know someone on bp that shot the duck everywhere they went. I think that is something everyone should do! Makes it fun! Fun story! #9557234

I used to take Dori my pink rubber duck every where and photograph her . . . but we haven't traveled much lately. We are headed to WV for Thanksgiving though so maybe she will go with us.

Love this image . . . made me smile too. #9557464

Somehow I realized this was a special image.

And with your enchanting story find it even more magical.

What would our travelling gnome be? That's a great photographer's question, and one you've asked us

Wonderful! #9564827
