Saved for another day
Uploaded: July 17, 2011
This poor little bird was blown into the pool early yesterday, & just had it's head out of water. I scooped it up & wrapped it in tissues to soak all the water out. Tony held it in front of the fire until it stopped shaking then into a cat basket for a rest, then out the back door into the food dish. After breakfast it flew off with friends. Lens aperture f/3.5, shutter speed 1/30sec, focal length 4mm, ISO 80.
Exif: F Number: 3.5, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 10/300 seconds, Flash: fired, auto mode, return light detected, ISO: 80, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 4.25 mm, Model: DSC-H70

Thank you all so much. We were pleased to be able to help the poor thing. Chris, I was going to say it's name was Lucky, but I thought better of it, I know that's not what you meant, I couldn't help it. They are really called Noisy Miners. #9567233Nancy L. Green July 30, 2011

Thank you all. We were very happy to have noticed him in there splashing around, I actually thought the pump had started up at the wrong time, he was trying so hard to get out. #9572489Emile Abbott August 03, 2011
Hi Chris and thanks for saving the wild life. It really makes you feel good to see them fly off for another day with friends. I also knew you kitty Kody was a Korat. They are special for sure. We almost lost Mosby while I was in Cheyenne shooting the rodeo. Awoke at 3 AM with a bad wind storm that blew open our RV's door and no Korat inside. Fortunately he came when called but was a scare for the wife and I as he is so special and loving. #9579071Mary K. Robison November 20, 2011
Chris, this closeup has tenderness beaming out of its lovely frame. The little one looks a tad wary here, but by breakfast-time, I'm sure it joined its birdie buddies with a very grateful heart for Tony and you. Nice job ~ the photo and the rescue! #9820088Chris Ebben November 20, 2011
Thanks for looking & commenting. Emile, sorry to take so long to answer. I'm so pleased you didn't lose Mosby, I'm always worried about that when we take Kody away, I keep checking the door.I can only imagine how much of a scare it would have been. Mary, one of these little birds comes to the door a few times a day calling out, I bet it's the same one. Thanks again. #9820105Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
