here are a couple more I shot #1391737

Debbie E. Payne July 09, 2011

Rita - I love all of them. Especially the first one. I love how the light shines through his wings and on all three the detail in his teeny, tiny feet. Well done. I could see you easily do a selection on him and put him on a sunset sky. Lots you can do with these. Great work. #9518684

Joan E. Hoffman July 09, 2011

Wonderful series Rita. Very unusual using the silhouette. I like all 3 but particularly view 3. Such nice transparency to the wings #9518691

Leslie D. Regal July 09, 2011

These are beautiful! I especially like #3 because it reminds me of Japanese painting. #9518882

Dale Hardin July 09, 2011

A nice series Rita. Also favor number three because of the translucent wings.

Give this a try. Duplicate the images and then select the top layer. Hold down the shift key while pressing the down arrow repeatedly. This will cycle you trough all the blend layers and you'll notice many nice variations to these shots. #9518949

Thank you every one this is the only humming bird that comes to my feeder. I have only had one for three years now looks like the same one...? I moved my feeder to be just a foot away from the window. may be I could catch a few shots of him I was eating dinner when I notice that the sun reflecting on the house next door made him into silhouette
Debbie I love his tiny feet also. I will have to look through my sunset don't know if I have the right one

joan I love his wings, did you know they flap thier wings 12 to 90 times a second

Leslie I can see it in a japanese painting now that you have said it.

Dale I will tried your excerise tomorrow. #9519198

I totally agree about the oriental feel to these, I actually meant to comment on it, but guess I forgot!

Just out of curiosity on my home computer the background is almost a sepia tone, here at work its a palish pink.... which of my monitors is out of whack? (hopefully my work one!!) #9519996

Debbie E. Payne July 10, 2011

I'm seeing more of a sepia tone, Joan. My pics from home never matched what I got at work. #9520069

Joan E. Hoffman July 10, 2011

Thanks Debbie, the only reason I asked was there was a marked difference. I know my home monitor is excellent and the work one is crap, however, I never noticed such a complete difference before. #9520232

Leslie D. Regal July 10, 2011

Rita, #3 should be your logo on a business card or stationery. I can't stop looking at it! #9520377

Michael Kelly level-classic July 10, 2011

These are wonderful Rita. The silhouette is perfect and great detail. I have a heard time picking but I think #1 is my favorite but just by a slight margin over the other two.

Terrific work. #9520528

Jeff E Jensen July 10, 2011

Yup, pretty fantastic. I'd have to vote for #1 as well. Nice work. #9520590

Beth Spencer July 10, 2011

Rita, you did a great job on these. I know it is hard trying to get pictures of the hummingbirds. I have been trying this summer but mine are way too fast! #9520662

Rita K. Connell level-classic July 11, 2011

as debbie said the sepia tone is what it should be. so the office one is a piece of crap....LOL

thanks mike, jeff and Beth sitting at my kitchen table with the lights off helps me alot cause he stay longer at the feeder.

Leslie I just might consider that one one my next set of cards. #9523614

Arthur Bohlmann July 16, 2011
