1/20s @ f/18, ISO 200, Nikkor 105mm f/2.8. (Flowers)
Taken in my garden 5/24/11. Alas, the poppies are all gone now; only one is standing and it is not in good shape. But they were great while they lasted.

A beautiful treatment for the shrinking poppy. Still shows the gorgeous colors and the unique way light plays on their delicate petals. #1383542Ellen Hodges June 08, 2011
Stunning and beautiful, Rona!! It's hard(in my humble opinion) to capture the beauty of the poppy and you soooo very much succeeded!! Just gorgeous!! #9449862Monnie Ryan June 08, 2011

This is just gorgeous, Rona!! I wish I had some poppies in my yard, I think I need to plant some! #9451259Rona L. Schwarz June 08, 2011
Thank you all very much for this vote of confidence! I am still a neophyte when it comes to shooting flowers and find it quite challenging - especially in the wind outside. I love poppies and my husband planted a bunch of them in our garden - but they were so hard to get to! This was taken lying down on a railroad tie shooting down, hand-held, so I was very happy how it turned out! #9451302Kathy Salerni June 09, 2011
