Life After Dusk

Uploaded: September 04, 2005

Description

Completely candid shot. Taken in a local park, minutes after darkness set in. Early summer aprox 8:40pm. This was taken with me laying on the ground, up the hill, with the camera just below the subject, with flash on. Although the subject was aware of my presence, he was unaware I was about to shoot this photograph. Taken with standard settings after dusk, full flash. Photo slightly softened to remove harsh sharpness due to full flash/ no natural light.

Contructive Critique is appreciated on this photo. Although I am please with the capture not sure how or if I should improve in any way.

Thanks, Coleen #305323

Candid shots are great but difficult because you don't have time to set up tripod, manually set camera settings or anything else, But they are the most priceless. I have one of my son as he just caught a ball at a pro baseball game. It was good that I was about 100 ft away with a 70-300 zoom. I have not posted it in my gallery because it does not have the quality I try to achive in my photos. however it is framed and hanging in more than one spot in my house, and of course at the grandparents!
What I am trying to say is that you can't improve when it comes to spontaneous candids - Mike #1802544

Point taken. I am always taking candids, and some of my favorites are candid. I must agree with you though, the quality isn't always perfect! Thanks for your comment, advice/ comments from you are always welcomed. #1802558
