Pairing Up
The Chicken Flock at Cuttalossa Farm.
Two trips to the over-200-year-old farm taught me a LOT about the lives of chickens. It wasn't until I was surprised by a dramatic mating at the end of my second visit, that I went back through my photos and pieced together the courtship.
These two "couples" were starting to pair up at the rear entrance of the sheep barn. The pair at the door eventually consummated before my eyes. Stay tuned.
On the side of the barn, once a saw mill, is the old mill wheel, now inoperable (see remark section). Now the farm raises tiny "baby doll" miniature sheep--for Pets!
