Union Station is a remarkable architectural building. Designed in the Beaux-Arts style, it set the mode for Washington's classic monumental architecture for the next 40 years. Originally opened in 1907 and re-opened in 1988 after a 2 year $160 million restoration, Union Station is the largest, most complex public/private restoration project ever attempted in the United States.
