Taken at the Celery Bog last month – I just loved watching the geese, especially when defending their territory. I never knew this, but geese mate for life with very low "divorce rates" and pairs remain together throughout the year.

Very cute capture, Rona! Brought a big smile to me!! They are so interesting to watch!! They are such cute families, too! A few years ago at Lake Katherine, saw a Turkey Vulture come in for a look at the babies at the lake, and several of the geese jumped in the water, in what looked like a big defensive move. The vulture moved on. Love the capture!! #1379607Rony Sagy May 23, 2011
Beautiful capture, Rona. And yes, I also learned only last week that geese mate for life and take turn taking care of their babies. #9424888Gord MacEachern May 24, 2011
