 River Electric Description: The oddly colored stone and water of the Uncompahgre River near Ouray, Colorado caught my attention and I knew I had to capture one of nature's unique sites. The funcky colors are the result of the ore rich soils, which initially brought mining to the area. While the surface soil looks pretty normal, the eroded rock on the river bed exposed the interesting colors. I scouted around until I found some Silver Lupine in their prime to add another splash of color. Canon 24mm T/S lens, f11, polarizing filter, Kodak 100GX. Uploaded on 9/1/2005 4:14:23 AM
