Sun City Bank...
In a township of same name, located in the northwestern part of Barbour county Ks, 24 miles northwest of Medicine Lodge, where Turkey Creek, the most picturesque stream in Kansas, joins the Medicine River. It is not so many years ago Sun City had a lively business center of several hundred inhabitants, with hotels, stores, saloons and all the et ceteras that go to make up a typical western border town, now has a population of less than a hundred people. I have no history of this old bank building. It has stood empty for many years. My last visit to this tiny town, I discovered that someone is taking delight in restoring this piece of history. It is always good to see when old buildings such as this are being brought back to life. Whatever that life turns out to be, at least someone is taking the time and making the effort to hang on to history and not allow it to crumble along with the stories that go along with it.
