White Pelicans made a rare stop at the Celery Bog in West Lafayette IN this weekend during their annual spring migration to northern nesting grounds. It is extremely rare to see them migrate through Indiana. The Pelican has a wingspan of about nine feet. In breeding season, it has a nuptial tubercle on the upper part of its bill which will fall off when mating season is over.
