Delicate Reflection, Moon
Description: Finally a different perspective on the famous icon. I arrived on a cloudy day, hoping to find an atmosphere or an unsual mood to create an image different from a million others taken here. I realized it when I descended into the "bowl" and found these tiny pools from rain earlier that day. I knew that with a very wide angle and calm conditions the arch could be captured, reflected. Amazingly the skies cleared later that day on the eve of the full moon which rose above the arch an hour before sunset. I raced out to the pools again, to find three dozen photographers perched on the typical spot on the hill shooting the arch against the la sals and clear skies. I think they wondered why I was down below, but no one followed. Canon 17-40L, 3 stop ND Grad, Fuji Velvia.
