Getting the SHOT (pun intended)

Uploaded: March 09, 2011

Description

---
When I was still employed in the Pharma industry, the Marketing folks invited me to observe an ad shoot for a product that they were about to launch. The two days of the shoot were among my most fascinating and fun experiences.
---
Here, the wardrobe person is adjusting the actors' clothing between shots, and the photographer's assistants (both professional photographers themselves) are controling the reflector. Off camera are producers, directors, prop people, and ad agency people. One prop man spent an hour raking minuscule debris from all the grass in sight.
---
The product launch was delayed by over a year when the FDA had questions about the manufacturing process. That was the trigger for the RIF that left me and half of the company's workers jobless.
-----
Reworking this image was part of my mad NIK frenzy recently.
--------
MT: Green (Well it is a golf course, and the green is in sight!)

Exif: F Number: 14, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 1/100 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 400, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 23.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS 50D

Fantastic story telling image Michelle, and there sure is lots of green.
Quite the reflector. Did the photographer use flash or rely only on the reflected light? #9281178

Great shot and editing, Michelle!! It sure would be nice at times to have a couple of assistants to hold up reflectors but then I would have to pay them...I too am curious about what drug they are promoting here...bummer about the FDA... #9282928

Glad you explained this one, I was wondering just what was happening !!! #9282959

The drug is now on the market, though the major launch has not yet occurred. It is really the first disease modifying drug for treatment-failure gout. Most people who have gout are well controlled on existing treatments. But others suffer horribly with intense and relentless pain and ugly disfigured joints, particulary in hands and feet. Most are housebound. This drug has been miraculous in clinical trials for 50% of the patients, whose lives are given back. #9282971

What a fun and well-composed image, Michelle, and IMO there's certainly enough green to qualify it as Theme. Thanks for the backstory because as an image alone, it is truly mystifying! #9287891
