Description

Approaching strangers for permission to photograph them was a hoot. Most folks were really very receptive; only one person said they would prefer that I not photograph them. This gentleman was selling garden art outside a local hang-out and never, even for a moment, put down his sweet companion "Snooky". What drew me to him was that he was such a large and serious man yet he had this little pink-coated partner forever in his arms. I shot the photo using a monopod and some fill in flash. I also cropped the photo to remove some extraneous background distraction that was off to the right. This also helped get him out of the center of the shot and made the yellow pansies have more pop.
