Blue Lake Entrance

Uploaded: February 20, 2011

Description

The Blue Lake trailhead is located just off Highway 20 near Washington Pass, after a short 2.2-mile hike and 1,100 foot elevation gain you come across the entrance to the alpine lake. Hiking into the lake in the middle of October, one notices the golden larch all ablaze in fall color. Photographed with a handheld DSLR (digital single lens reflex) Canon camera set at ISO 400 and f/8 using a wide-angle zoom lens (12 to 24), while sitting on a log across the stream. This cropped photo is entered into the “Nature & Landscapes” category and shared with the BetterPhoto Club: “Photographing the Northwest -- Hiking Club.”

I love places like this and you captured it beautifully. Looks like I've added yet another "to do" on my hiking list. #1354831
