Hello Simon,
Lovely photo! #1383047

Hi Alexander,
Thank you! I was experimenting with my Lee Filters 10-stop ND (neutral density) filter to achieve a long (15-second) exposure, as I liked the effect it had on the clouds. #9446502

Simon,
10 stops ? Why so high ? Was there so much light ?
And where did you used the highest stops for , to reduce the light from the snow or the sky ? I would imagine that the reflections from the snow needed to be lowered ?

Hi Alexander,

The 10-stop ND filter allowed me to achieve the long shutter speed, so I could record the motion blur in the moving clouds.

Thanks Simon,
I renctly purchase some ND filters (max 4) but haven't really been able to practice.
Just an idea = I think this is the kind of special courses still missing on the BP website !

Living in the Great Lakes presents a whole lot of Winter scenes to shoot, but I've never accomplished one this beautifully.

"Snow" isn't easy, but you did it perfectly. #9450385

Hi Kathy,

Thank you! I am glad you like the shot. It's one of my favourites from the past winter here in southern England.

Kind regards,
