Description

A 3-exposure combination of the Air Force Memorial in Arlington, VA. The three arcs of steel-clad concrete evoke the spirit of flight, and the site
offers wonderful views of Arlington Cemetery, the Pentagon, and DC beyond. Each arc is a different height;
the tallest (center, here) is 270', while the other two are 231' and 201' respectively.
A 'regular' street-level view of the memorial is included in the discussion thread.

OMG! This is one fabulous image Chris. People have no clue had difficult this is to capture, and your did a fantastic job. This is one of the best I have seen. (Contact the AF and let them know you have this jewel!)

Thank you very, very much, Gail! As you're someone who captures DC beautifully, I appreciate your kind words! The wide-angle lens is pretty much a must-have to shoot this difficult structure! #9204706

Chris - just seen this. You are brilliantly artistic, man! Who would have though a business analyst could be so creative! You really inspire me to think differently about my shots. #9216981

Thanks, Martin ;) Yeah, the business analyst part just pays the bills... no chance of a creative outlet there at the desk! #9217020

Thanks, Usman! I have a sense they won't pick it this time around... but I did do a rework of it in March entries, after a nudge from Kara H, and I like the rework a little bit better! #9297165
