A 3-exposure combination of the Air Force Memorial in Arlington, VA. The three arcs of steel-clad concrete evoke the spirit of flight, and the site
offers wonderful views of Arlington Cemetery, the Pentagon, and DC beyond. Each arc is a different height;
the tallest (center, here) is 270', while the other two are 231' and 201' respectively.
A 'regular' street-level view of the memorial is included in the discussion thread.

Amazing, artful presentation, Chris...appreciated even more by seeing the "regular" view. This must be a wonderful and inspiring, thought provoking place to visit. #9138726Bonnie C. Lackey January 02, 2011

OMG! This is one fabulous image Chris. People have no clue had difficult this is to capture, and your did a fantastic job. This is one of the best I have seen. (Contact the AF and let them know you have this jewel!)Chris Budny January 31, 2011
Thank you very, very much, Gail! As you're someone who captures DC beautifully, I appreciate your kind words! The wide-angle lens is pretty much a must-have to shoot this difficult structure! #9204706Martin Cregg February 06, 2011
Chris - just seen this. You are brilliantly artistic, man! Who would have though a business analyst could be so creative! You really inspire me to think differently about my shots. #9216981Chris Budny February 06, 2011
Thanks, Martin ;) Yeah, the business analyst part just pays the bills... no chance of a creative outlet there at the desk! #9217020Usman M. Bajwa March 17, 2011
Unique pov and that wide angle is perfect, Chris. Hope the judges agree, good luck!UB. #9296942

Thanks, Usman! I have a sense they won't pick it this time around... but I did do a rework of it in March entries, after a nudge from Kara H, and I like the rework a little bit better! #9297165Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
